Abstract
The diabatic heating and kinetic energy budget over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau are estimated,based on the data collected by the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau Meteorological Science Experiment (QXPMEX) during the summer of 1979.The results revealed that the energy budget over the Plateau has its peculiarity.During the summer,the atmosphere over the Plateau is one of the important source regions of heat and kinetic energy in the Northern Hemisphere.It is indicated that the formation of summer circulation over the Plateau is earlier than the seasonal transition of general circulation over East Asia.
