Cover Note

A "greener" China is observed by Fengyun meteorological satellites. The "greener China" is represented by obviously improved remote sensing ecological index (RSEI) in the upper reach of the Yellow River (upper panels) and the middle to lower reaches of the Yangtze River (lower pannels). A range of advanced ecological applications of Fengyun satellite data are developed in China (see Han et al. 2021 in this issue).
